Online Scuba Diver Training 2023

Who does not like learning with the convenience of studying in their own time or wants their spare time to be more productive?  Obviously, using your free time to increase your knowledge through online scuba diver training before you come to Koh Tao would be unquestionably a great idea. So what courses can you do online?

What Is It All About?

There are many scuba diver training courses that can now be done online and include the exam, for example, Nitrox 32%.  All the Ecology courses are completely online and you do not need to be a diver, including Fish IdentificationSea Turtle Ecology, and many more.  In addition, any academic sessions can be arranged with an instructor via webinars, skype or zoom, etc if necessary.

All things considered, there is no reason not to continue your diving education and as a result, you will be better prepared and educated. SSI is introducing more online or digital courses all the time.  So it is always good to check what is available throughout the year and if you do not see what you are looking for please ask.

So what does online scuba diver training involve? Specifically, you can read all the theories and complete the exam from where ever you are, online. Using the MySSI app makes learning more convenient too, so you do not need to sit in front of a computer.  You can long on the go. Furthermore, any academic sessions with an instructor can be done via webinars, skype or zoom, etc if needed.

However, some courses require diving sessions, which can be scheduled when convenient.  The cost of the course depends on how much scuba diving is involved but ecology courses are 2000b. Any payments can be made via Paypal or bank transfer or in cash at the dive shop.

What Scuba Diving Courses Are Available Online

In this section, I will list the scuba diver training courses available for online academic study.  Furthermore, for the Ecology courses, you do not even need to be a diver, anyone over 10 years old can take a course.  This list will be updated as more courses are added.

Who Can Take Online Scuba Diver Training Courses?

At a minimum, students must be certified Open Water Divers or equivalent to enroll in an SSI Specialty program.  Surprisingly, for the Ecology programs, there are no prerequisites apart from being 10 years or older.

For any online final exam, you need to achieve a 100% score. Moreover, you can perform multiple attempts until you have achieved the passing score.  Thereafter, for any programs requiring additional training the Training Center and the student need to schedule the practical application and/or in-water training sessions for a future date.
